Starting PPC Again, No Time for Games, A New Beginning!

I haven’t been working on PPC for about a month or so now. I had a problem with my funds.

I’ve fixed everything so all should be good and ready by November 5th 2008. This is the day I will start my campaigns.

I will be explaining more about my experiences and how I go about Making Money Online using PPC Affiliate Marketing. I will be using Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing and MSN Adcenter. I will also be testing with other ad networks and social media networks.

I have been very successful with PPC but failed by being lazy and not working enough ;).

What I Learned From PPC?

#1 PPC Mistake - Don’t get lazy or complacent.

Always work and improve your PPC campaigns. Don’t get lazy.

The success of your campaign depends on you. Other factors will change, so you must change also PPC Marketing is not a Set it And Forget It, type of thing.

The niche I was in eventually fell, because of not maintaining or watching my PPC Campaigns. I got it so it made me a profit of $800+ a day. An eventually never maintained it because I was lazy. It eventually fell to $600 then to $400 then to -$200 days. Too many negative days can be very bad for your business.

You do not want to continue this, get a hold of your campaign and figure out what’s wrong. If you let it stay at -$200 within 1 week or 7 days it will cost you $1400 in your own PROFITS. So Pay attention!

#2 PPC Mistake - Poor Money Management

Always monitor your profits and manage your expenses. Do not take money from your profits.

Do not spend unless you REALLY need it. Be Frugal!
You must invest back into your business for at least 6 months.

The #1 reason for small business failures would be poor money management. Don’t let this happen to your business.

What Am I Going To Do?

So, we now know the most important problems before going into the PPC Marketing arena.

Starting on Your First Niche.

In the beginning your campaign will be in the negative, YOUR JOB is to get it to be positive or profitable.

I’m going to start with Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing.

On Google Adwords - Create Your PPC Campaign with:

5-12 keywords using both Exact and Phrase Match equaling 24 keywords.

In Yahoo Search Marketing - Create Your PPC Campaign with:

5-12 keywords Phrase and/or Exact Match. I will use Exact to begin with I think. So I end up spending less money in the long run.

What Not To Do

What I use to do was just take 2,000 keywords and dump them in related ad-groups and run my campaign.

That’s what you don’t want to do.

What You Should Do

You want to start with 5-10 keywords it’s best to choose buying keywords related to what your promoting. The reason for this are buying keywords are more likely to convert into a sale or lead.

The reason you start with less keywords is because you want to maximize your profits and find out what works. Both yahoo and google take your account history into account when pricing your clicks.

You want to maintain a high Ad CTR and make sure your landing page is converting. An make sure the keywords you are bidding on are converting.

While Your Campaign is Running - What Do I Do?

While your PPC Campaign is running their are 3 things you want to pay attention to which are: Ad CTR, Landing Page CTR % and your Conversion Rate %. You want all these numbers to be the highest possible, you want to keep working to move these percentages up.

Ad CTR% = The Clickthrough Rate for your ad copy. (Impressions/Clicks)

Landing Page CTR% = The Clickthrough rate on your landing page to offer. (Clicks to Offer)

Conversion Rate % = The conversion rate % of Clicks to the Offer page that converted. (Percentage of Converted Clicks)

You want to increase these #’s on a daily basis and make the necessary tweaks to get your campaign profitable.

Once It’s Profiting - MILK IT!

My main goal is to get these niches to profit $50-$100 daily. Once this happens, I will leave it alone for a while and milk it for 2-6 days or longer depending on the funds. Within 6 days I should have $300 to $600 in profit.

Then add some keywords and make more money, but at least you made $300-$600 for the new keywords you will be testing.

The reason why you would want to milk it for 2-6 days is so you are guaranteed those PROFITS and then use that PROFIT for your new testing. In this case, you would make $300-$600 for new keywords.

There should be testing phases each testing phase you should acquire more keywords within your campaign (portfolio). Keywords that are converting and that profit for you.

Create Your Testing Phases

You should have different testing cycles or phases.

So you can milk and get profits and test new keywords.

At the end of each testing phase or cycle. You should of acquired more keywords for your campaign portfolio.

Which would increase your profit for that campaign.

Downtime, When Milking It!

Start a new campaign in a different niche and repeat the process.

Ok, So you understand all that. What to do when your doing good?

Expand Your Business Capital & Create a Team!

Create Capital & Profitable Portfolio

As an Affiliate Marketer. You want to develop a great portfolio with converting campaigns just like a stock marketer would have a portfolio of stocks. You have a portfolio of PPC Campaigns.

Start with 1 get it to $50-$100 day profit, then start another one and get it to $50-$100 then focus on starting more campaigns while also growing those campaigns to $1,000-$20,000 a day profit.

Your goal is to build capital for your business so you can continue increasing your daily spending budget.

Create A Team!

As every big an successful business, you will notice they aren’t run by one person. So like every business you should eventually develop your own of team of people.

Meaning once you have enough capital, you should hire your own team of employees to take care of your daily operations while you focus on the building of your business.

Creating a team means you can not output twice or three times as much as you can by yourself.
